Two more knights for the tournament
Got these guys painted up over the week. Playing with new colors and patterning. One fellow is based off of a page from the Manesse Manuscript, the other a challenge of colors from my own imagination.The models are a real treat to paint, and I'm keen on getting the rules and models out to you'ze guys soon.
That leads me to a few of questions:
Should I put the models up for sale now, and keep working on the jousting rules (set) or wait till they are all complete?
Would anyone out there be interested in the knights coming with a sheet of color printed shield patterns and decorations for the barding, that you could cut out and glue on?
Thinking of making the knight a mounted dismounted set that you buy together. Does this appeal to folks or would you just like to get them separately?

I like the figures, but would suggest getting the rules done before putting them up for sale. Having print and glue sheets would be a great add-on to the product. I personally would only get the dismounted figures if there were rules for using them. I'm looking forward to more updates on this project.

These are very nice indeed. Coats of Arms - Yes pre prints would be good but some guideline ones would also be good. already quartered or paled designs, would work as it could act as a guideline for painting ones own.
ReplyDeleteI should also be interested in the ability to change weapon arms from lance to sword or other hand weapon for use in a Melee, which might have more potential than a straight joust as an enduring game, particulary if it involved a lot of temporary allowances on the Tourney Ground.
Mounted and foot as a pack please with an option for seperates.
Graham, Thanks for the input. The rules will have a page of heraldric terms, that will help with basic design work. The plan is also to have pre printed shields (like the flag sheets for my galleys) that you can cut out and glue onto the model.
DeleteI am currently designing two sword and one axe arm that will work with both foot and mounted knights. As to interchangeable,not in an "every game" sense, although you might experiment with magnets?
Hoping to have the foot knights done this month. Busy busy month for a toy maker, as you can imagine.
